In a fan-friendly scheduling situation at the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, the top four seeds will all play Wednesday in two jam-packed sessions at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
Roger Federer will begin his title defense against qualifier Denis Istomin in the 7 p.m. match on Center Court. Federer has won in Cincinnati three times.
No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic kicks off the day against fellow Serbian Viktor Troicki on Center Court. The other matches on Center Court feature No. 1 seed Rafael Nadal and No. 4 seed Andy Murray in their first matches in Cincinnati this year and No. 9 seed Andy Roddick in his second.
Capping the night are returning doubles champions Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic.
The high quality of tennis isn’t limited strictly to Center Court on Wednesday. Grandstand boasts Grand Slam champions, finalists and semifinalists with household names like Lleyton Hewitt, Robin Soderling, John Isner and last year’s US Open Series points champion Sam Querrey.
A total of 19 matches are scheduled for Wednesday across all four courts.
