Roger once again fought back in impressive manner today, coming back from two sets down against Tommy Haas, finally winning the match 6-7(4), 5-7, 6-4, 6-0 and 6-2.
Roger was two sets and 3-4 down facing a break point when he recovered to hold serve and went on to win eight games in a row! He raced to level things up with a 6-0 demolition job in the fourth set and then broke twice in the final set. And with the chance to close out the contest, serving at 5-2 up with a double break, it took Roger just two match points to seal his place in the last-eight as a Haas return went wide at 40-30.
The victory was greeted by massive cheers on Philippe Chatrier Court as Roger is the hot favourite to win the title after Rafael Nadal was beaten yesterday. He will face either France's Gaƫl Monfils or American Andy Roddick on Wednesday.
